ALS. The writer acknowledges the addressee's letter of 4 [April 1818; see Lettere 062], sends his greetings to Di Pietro, De Gregorio, Fontana, Gabrielli, and Opizzoni, and informs that the Séminaire [du Saint-Esprit] is being rebuilt at its old location [in rue des Postes], whereas it is temporarily housed at 15, rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs. The [French] government asked him for 25 priests to be sent to various missions (two for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon), but only eight are ready to go. For the two priests sent to Saint-Pierre and Miquelon (Jehan, Bonaldy), and the other ones, he needs 12 B apostolic letters. A priest [Longueville] is known to be in Saint-Pierre, close to the banks of Newfoundland, but never had the writer any contact with him. [The balance of this item deals with Cayenne, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Ile-de-Bourbon, Ile-de-France, Sénégal, Gorée]. PF notes.
