ALS. The writer acknowledges the addressee's letter of 26 July [1823], together with the letters patent for the various prefects apostolic, vice-prefects and missionaries. As for Saint-Pierre, the prefect is Olivier, the vice-prefect Lairet (who resides in Miquelon). They are the only priests in the islands. [The balance of this item deals with Martinique, Guadeloupe, Ile-de-Bourbon, Cayenne, Sénégal, Saint-Barthélémy]. PF S. Re PF's answer of 7 February 1824 [see APF, Lettere, volume 305, folio 144v-145r].
