LS. The writer encloses an extract of the King [George III]'s instructions to the Governor[-in-Chief] of [Lower] Canada [Prevost; see C 073], that he obtained through a friend. They are similar to the instructions all Canadian governors were issued since 1765, and, were they to be implemented, Catholics would suffer greatly. This is why Catholics must sometimes refrain from expanding their religion, in order not to induce a less wise governor to implement these instructions. PF S, notes.
