M. Concanen was informed that the Pope [Pius VII] intends to grant "the largest possible faculties" to many prelates, as once did Pius VI. This is due to the turbulent times and to the difficulty to communicate with the Holy See. The writer asks that prelates of the British empire, representing five million people in the British Isles, Canada, Newfoundland, and the West Indies, be duly taken into account. [The balance of this item deals with Ireland]. Bs: fol. 83v-86rv.
