MS [partially in Caprano's handwriting]. List of items to be discussed in the audience no. 20 of 22 June 1824. Item no. 21 deals with Scotland and Québec. [In his letter of 27 May 1824; see Varia 174], Paterson, bp. of Cybistra, coadjutor of the vicar apostolic in the Lowland district of Scotland [A. Cameron], praises Gillis and forwards the latter's application [of 26 May 1824; see Varia 173]. Gillis was born in Montréal in 1802 from Scottish parents, returned to Scotland in 1817 with his parents, now lives in the Séminaire de Saint-Sulpice in Paris, and, in order to serve in the missions of Scotland, his former dependence from the abp. of Québec [Plessis] must be rescinded. Signed by Caprano.
