M [prepared for the audience of 7 March, then postponed until 12 March 1822; see Varia 141-142]. The abp. of Québec, Plessis, asks [1] for the renewal of various marriage dispensations; [2] that his suffragan bp.s [A. McDonell, A.B. MacEachern, Lartigue, Provencher] and his coadjutor [Panet] be granted a pension or be allowed to extract some revenues from a parish, according to the custom of Ireland; [3] for a papal confirmation of the faculties that he granted to Lartigue in Montréal; [4] indulgences; [5] that he be allowed to rent the episcopal palace to the government (that will pay £1,000 per year), as it was done in the past to supplement the bp.'s modest revenues.
