ALS. The writer acknowledges the addressee's letter of 9 February [1822]. The writer informs that Lairet, a former student of the Séminaire [du Saint-Esprit] who was ordained last Saturday [2 March 1822] in the Séminaire's chapel, is going to leave for Miquelon, "île depuis si long temps abandonnée". He also asks that the enclosed application for faculties in favour of [P.] Olivier, prefect apostolic in Saint-Pierre, be approved, namely, that Olivier be allowed to establish the Confrérie du Scapulaire, to bless rosaries and crosses, and to grant indulgences. The writer suggests that all despatches be entrusted to the abp. of Baltimore [Maréchal], were the latter still in Rome. PF S, notes (item no. 9). [The balance of this item deals with Guadeloupe, Cayenne, Martinique]. Bs: fol. 332v-333r.
