M. General commentaries on brotherhoods, with special reference to the Confrérie du Saint-Sacrement, the Confrérie du Sacre-Coeur, and the sodality ["Societas Sapientiae"] for young people mentioned by the bp. of Québec [Denaut; see Varia 041-042]. According to the writer, bp.s are empowered to establish brotherhoods in their dioceses, but sometimes ask for the Holy See's permission and for some special indulgences. Such permission is usually granted in the form of a brief. There seems to be no danger in entrusting to the bp. the approval of the sodality for young people. PF notes [in Coppola's handwriting].
