C [in the same handwriting as SOCG 341]. A very long and detailed M against the Montréal Seminary and in favour of the bp. of Telmissus [Lartigue], entitled "Déclaration et observations ... au sujet du Gouvernement Ecclésiastique du District de Montréal". [1] The "Déclaration" is dated 1 June 1824, as is signed by the writer, who states that he is firmly against the "mesures que ce Séminaire a prises ... pour empêcher, retarder ou gêner l'établissement de Monseig.r de Telmesse à Montréal". [2] The "Observations" are subdivided into "Raisons de Justice et de Droit" (five questions, nine objections, four mottos), "De ce qu'il convenoit à notre maison de faire dans les contestations présentes" (three articles), "Effêts des contestations présentes" (nine articles), "Conclusion de tout cet Ecrit", and two appendixes.
