Dfs of two items, both R of the CG of 19 February 1827. [1] Affirmative [the bishopric of Detroit if to be erected and Richard be appointed bp.], but the bp.'s allowance must be kept separate from parish funds; as for the trustees, Pius VII's regulations contained in the letter of 24 August 1822 [see APF, SOCG, vol. 940, fol. 571rv-574rv] to the abp. of Baltimore [Maréchal] and to the American bp.s are to be observed. [2] The draft of Roux's letter to Bathurst [see Acta 168] is approved. The Nuncio in Paris [Lambruschini] is to ask to French court to intercede with the English court, but the English government is to be taken to court if necessary. Since Roux maintains not to have received them, have Cs made of the letters sent to the abp. of Québec [Panet] and to the Sulpicians on their dispute [see Della Somaglia's letters to Panet and Roux of 26 March 1826; see Lettere 227 229].
