Lettre de La Jonquière au ministre (concerne principalement Michillimakinac et ses dépendances) - a signalé l'année dernière que les Indiens de Michillimakinac avaient porté une grande quantité de pelleteries chez les Anglais et que ces derniers, par l'entremise des Iroquois (colliers), tentaient de les éloigner des Français; les ordres donnés à François Lefebvre Duplessis Faber à ce sujet ont porté fruit: ce commandant a détourné Noukouata des Anglais, faisant échouer le projet qu'une grande partie des guerriers caressait "de se dévouer entièrement aux Anglais et de suivre partout ledit Noukouata s'il acceptait la place de chef que les Anglais lui offraient"; Duplessis a aussi retiré une médaille, un collier et un pavillon anglais qu'un "considéré sauteux" avait acceptés ainsi qu'un collier que les Anglais avaient remis aux Outaouais; il a arrêté une bande de Sauteux ou Castor qui avait chanté la guerre dans son poste; des Sauteux de la Grosse Isle sont allés frapper sur les Illinois probablement à l'invitation des Potéouatamis de la rivière Saint-Joseph; les Sauteux ont tué un Français (Jean Brossac) dans la rivière des Illinois (compte rendu); prie Duplessis Faber de dire aux Sauteux qu'ils doivent descendre à Montréal l'an prochain et livrer le meurtrier: si ce dernier a agi par trahison, on lui fera casser la tête; le feu a pris à la guérite du fort de Michillimakinac et les dommages ont été réparés; a permis de faire élargir ce fort "du côté du lac, d'y faire faire un corps de garde neuf et quelques autres réparations qui ne coûteront rien au roi" (explications); Duplessis a fait revenir à Michillimakinac les Outaouais sinagos qui, depuis quelques années, s'étaient réfugiés au Saguinan où ils avaient tué des Français (détails): ces Indiens vont tenter d'y faire revenir les Sauteux qui sont au Saguinan; ils ont promis avec les Kiskakons d'aller frapper sur les Indiens rebelles de la Belle Rivière; ils ont dit qu'une bande d'Outaouais (sinagos) s'était retirée à Détroit où elle avait été très bien accueillie par Pierre-Joseph Céloron de Blainville; au poste de la rivière Saint-Joseph, La Corne de La Colombière remplacera (Louis Legardeur de) Repentigny qui s'en va servir à Louisbourg; ce dernier a empêché les nations de son poste d'aller venger la mort du Potéouatami tué par les Illinois: efforts faits pour régler cette affaire à l'amiable (envoi de députés, ordre donné à Benoist de Saint-Clair, etc); a appris qu'un chef potéouatami, en partant de Montréal, est allé avec sa bande à Chouaguen où il a reçu "une parole des Anglais de la part des Chaouanons, des Miamis" et autres Indiens de la Belle Rivière l'invitant à trahir les Français: comme ce chef et sa bande ont paru "disposés à remplir les vues de ces rebelles", il demande à La Colombière d'examiner cette affaire et d'en arrêter les suites; Beaujeu de Villemomble, commandant à Kaministiquia et Michipicoton, est parvenu à rétablir la tranquillité parmi les Indiens de son poste et à les empêcher d'aller en guerre contre les Sioux; des 40 Indiens qu'il y avait à Michipicoton, il en est mort 34 et les six autres se sont retirés du côté de la baie d'Hudson; tout est tranquille au poste de Chagouamigon.
