Petition addressed to the Pope [Innocent XI] in which the deputation of a special congregation [of the Consistory] is requested to examine the proposal by the King [of france, Louis XIV] to suppress both the abbatial and conventual revenues of the abbey of Lestrées so that these can be united to the bishopric of Québec. The special congregation is requested because of the strong desire of the King for this union which will improve the dowry of the bishopric and enable the establishment of a cathedral chapter of canons. [v of 505 is B].
