LS., PF [Secretary Casanate ?] to Favoriti, Secretary of the Congregation of the Consistory: the writer notes that the bp. of Petraea [Laval], fearing a delay in the erection of the bishopric of Québec because of the jurisdictional claims [to New France] of the abp. of Rouen [Harlay], has asked the Pope [Clement X] and the Congregation of the Consistory to agree to Harlay's claim at least until an archbishopric is created [in New France]. PF forwards [below, no. 103 ?] its understanding or position on this affair to the Congregation of the Consistory in which the erection of the bishopric is pending. [v of 62 is B].
