The work of F.A.O. (The Food and Agriculture Organization) of the United Nations in promoting increased world food production to feed the hungry, beginning with the post World War II challenge of reviving crippled European agriculture. A look at FAO's promotion of systematic food storage, of international conference to promote goals, of animal disease control, of food inspection and protection, of land reforestration and drainage, of farm cooperatives, of scientific, industrial and technological support of agriculture - especially in post W.W. II China. Noteworthy pictorials: farmers plow field among ruins and battle scars of W.W. II. W.W. II victims of food shortages line up for relief; Dr. Frank Kelderane, the Director of the World Health Organization makes a speech at a FAO meeting, regarding world hunger; an FAO Animal Disease meeting is held, complete with demonstrations; Sir John Boyd Orr, first Director General of FAO; Noriss E. Dobbs second Director General of FAO; and, in India, dead rats are piled onto street.
