LS. The new French colony in America will settle along the river Scioto, in Virginia, far away from the vic. ap. of the United States [recte bp. of Baltimore, Carroll]. Didier, who is a good subject, though a little idealistic, has already left for Havre-de-Grace, and will embark for America around 15 [May]; faculties granted to him could then be confirmed by the vic. ap.. [Du Val] d'Eprémesnil will remain [in Paris] to look after the project. PF S. [The balance of this item deals with China].
