CS ("G"). The writer acknowledges the letter of PF of 6 Apr. [1791; see Lettere 387], which proves his own letter of 8 Nov. [1790; see SOCG 607] was received. He does not know, however, whether his letter of 23 Jan. [1791; see SOCG 690] was received by the addressee. He makes reference to the enclosures A-F, and deals with the suppression or shifting of certain holidays, his dispute with his coadjutor [Bailly de Messein], the Recollet novices of Québec, E. Burke [1753-1820]'s wish to be sent as missionary to the Northwest, his last pastoral visit, Montgolfier's death on [27] Aug. [1791]. This packet was sent via Hody, his vic. general in Paris. A third C of this letter will be sent via Cadiz or Lisbon if possible. PF notes (to the writer's letter of 23 Jan. 1791, PF answered on 27 July [1791; see Lettere 392]).
