AM. A report on the state of religion in the diocese of Québec. It deals with Cataraqui (the Scottish priest [J.R.] Macdonnell has just arrived), Acadia (the Irish priest Jones has arrived in Halifax, where [J.-M.] Bourg is still vic. general), Butler, bp. of Cork (who will send missionaries if the bp. of Québec [Mariauchau d'Esgly] asks him to do so), two priests sent by the bp. of Québec (one [Girouard] to Baie des Chaleurs, the other [Dufaux] to Détroit), the thriving Séminaire de Québec, the future governor of Canada (Haldimand is soon to be replaced by [G.] Carleton).
