LS. The writer thanks the addressee for so well receiving the letter he had written from France. He has arrived in his diocese some months previously [on 31 July 1688], to find it in ruin, mainly because of its barbarous enemies. He informs that he is writing to the Pope [Innocent XI] to report and to ask for his ap. blessing and for a solution to the difficulties that delay the conversion of the savages. PF S. Bs: 61v, 64r.
