LS. Following the addressee's letter of 3 Apr. [1765], the writer encloses a list of the American colonies where Jesuits were replaced by secular priests. Four letters patent are still unused. As to the missionaries sent, the writer is seldom aware of who they are, since the [French] Court is sending missionaries without informing him, and often the missionaries only send testimonials written by their ordinaries without bothering to go to Paris in person.
