M. Since the King of France [Louis XV] wishes to send 18 secular priests to the French islands of America with the rank of prefects, the addressee asked [PF] Prefect [Castelli] to grant appropriate letters patent without discussing the matter in a CG. The decision made [by Castelli and M. Marefoschi] was to send four prefects to Saint-Domingue, Martinique, Cayenne and Saint-Pierre [and Miquelon], with faculties according to Formula Five, and five principal missionaries to the remaining five islands [Désirade, Guadeloupe, Marie-Galante, Nouvelle-Cayenne, Sainte-Lucie], with faculties according to Formula Five. At the audience [granted by Clement XIII] on 26 May 1763, the Pope approves. Signed by Marefoschi. Bs: 564v-565r.
