LS. The writer acknowledges the addressee's letter [of 2 June 1790; see Lettere 374], that he will show to [Du Val] d'Eprémesnil. The latter proved well aware of the difficulties that prevent the establishment of a bishopric in the French colony [on the river Scioto], and will thus refrain from applying again. The vic. general of the abp. of Paris [Le Clerc de Juigné], abbé Floirac, does not know [Bouchard de] La Poterie, but will try to gather information on him. He will soon forward the letter for America [possibly the decree enclosed with the letter of 26 May 1790; see Lettere 373]. PF S. [The balance of this item deals with the bishopric of Babylon, Sweden]. B: 198r.
