ALS. The writer acknowledges the decree of PF [of the CG 285/21 of 14 Feb. 1642; see Acta 67] on the extension of his mission. The King of France, Louis XIII] delayed the writer's embarkment until after Easter [20 Apr. 1642]. The Comte de Marcheville [H. de Gournay], former ambassador in Constantinople, is now Viceroy of the whole of North America, and Christopher of the Holy Trinity is in good terms with the latter. His province refuses to replace the six sick friars that were assigned to him in Rome, and he is left with a 60-year-old missionary. [The balance of this item deals with Madagascar]. PF S.
