LS. The writer acknowledges the letter of PF of 17 Aug. [1640]. Accordingly, he wrote to the Capuchin provincials of Touraine [Louis de Champigny] and Bretagne [Raphael de Nantes]; the latter answered that his mandate expires on 8 Sep. [1640]. As for the missions in Canada and England, nothing has been done; while the province of Paris wants to send Sabatier [Esprit d'Yvoy] as superior [in Canada], the writer would prefer Gabriel de Paris, former superior in Persia, Sabatier being too young and inexperienced. PF S. Re PF answer of Oct. [1640].
