ALS. The writer forwarded a map of America to PF [the map, Speed's ¨America with those known parts¨ or ¨New and Accvrat Map of the world,¨ was enclosed with Stock's letter of 7 Mar. 1626; see SOCG 29], showing a northern passage to Japan, how the best part of North America belongs to English heretics who founded Plymouth, the great island [Newfoundland] on which he wrote extensively. As for the request of his General [Paolo Simone di Gesù e Maria] that he himself go to Avalon, he is not willing to do so unless the English mission is firmly established. [The balance of this item deals with England]. [In Ingoli's handwriting] PF S. Re CG 68[/5] of 18 Dec. 1626 [see Acta 12].
