CG/50. Rel.: [C.] Carafa. The Internuncio in France [Vibo] has enclosed with his letter [of 18 Mar. 1672; see SOCG 417] various letters [all of 14 Mar. 1672; see SOCG 412-415] of the bp. of Petraea [Laval] to the Pope [Clement X] and to PF. The bp. writes that he has gone to Paris to look after the expedition of the bulls of erection of the bishopric of Québec, but is so poor that he will not be able to fulfil the financial requirements; the bp. also reports on the state of religion in his territory. The Internuncio writes that the bp. is prepared to pay 1,000 scudi for the expedition of the bulls. R: The matter is to be entrusted to PF Secretary [Baldeschi Colonna] and [F.] Barberini [1597-1679].
