CG 12/25. Rel.: Melzi. The King of France [Louis XIV] has often requested the erection of a bishopric in Canada, with Laval as candidate; he now asks that Laval be sent as bp. in partibus with the title of vic. ap.; to Laval the same King will grant a yearly pension of 1,000 livres (c. 300 Roman scudi); in due time, a full bishopric is to be erected. R: Deferred to a CG before the Pope [Alexander VII].
