Footage of a student in Africa making dinner in his room, taking a camel ride, and participating in an informal discussion group. In rural Africa, local people are shown participating in field sports: sand pit jumping, lance throwing, and high jump. A drive through African villages briefly shows some local activities and dress. Scenes in Bangkok, Thailand show congested streets, European cars and local people transporting their goods (i.e. using a pole with a basket on either end). Seen are rural houses and women making colourful material items. The Taj Mahal, in Agra, Punjab is shown. Footage of a railway station where local people sell food from trays to passengers through windows prior to departure. In India, Pierre Elliot Trudeau is seen stepping from a plane and being met by Indira Gandhi. Trudeau is also shown meeting CUSO volunteers and shaking their hands and speaking with them. Footage of a colourful parade including traditional dress and dances and a strong military presence. Footage shows African rural landscapes and urban areas. The majority of the film is shot from a moving vehicle. Footage of street markets and vendors. Final shots of upscale real estate and Afrikaaners playing tennis on the estate courts.
