Third program in a series of three television documentaries about the history of military aviation in Canada. It uses archival footage, stills and interviews to tell the story of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1940 to the present, including the ferrying by Canadian pilots of aircraft to Britain, air battles over Britain, the low-level sweeps conducted by the RCAF and RAF in search of the enemy over France, RCAF service in Alaska and the Pacific, George "Buzz" Beurling, No. 6 Group of Bomber Command, Victoria Cross winner Andrew Mynarski, Victoria Cross winner David Hornell, RCAF air cover for the D-Day invasion, the end of the Second World War, the establishment of auxiliary fighter squadrons across Canada, and Korean War service and subsequent NATO service in Europe. Interviews include: Dr. [P.D.] McTaggart-Cowan; Geoff McDougall; C.H. "Punch" Dickins; Gordon McGregor; Stan Turner; Robert Morrow; Dal Russell; Ernie McNab; Leonard Birchall; Deane Nesbitt; Arthur de Breyne; Patrick Brophy; Bruce Fleming; Geoff Northcott; and present-day Captains Ray Aitken, Roméo Lalonde and Murray Lee.
