This image shows the HMS Investigator sailing, with much difficulty, through a channel between ice and cliffs, during a harsh snow storm. This event is dated on the print as September 23rd, 1851, This is a second loose copy of sketch V. of the VIII Cresswell sketches depicting the voyage of HMS Investigator., There appears to be significant foxing along the edges, mostly on the right side of the print and on the verso. Edges are also a bit dirty and blackened.
