Ribbon attached to suspension loop; the colours included in the ribbon of The Order of Ontario are red (the colour of the Ontario Ensign), white, green and gold., The insignia of The Order of Ontario is a stylized trillium, in white and green enamel, edged in gold. In the centre of the trillium is the shield of arms of the Province of Ontario, surmounted by the Crown., According to the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, Province of Ontario, The Order of Ontario "is the province's most prestigious official honour." Created in 1986, the award recognizes "the highest level of individual excellence and achievement in any field.", Barbara Chilcott received The Order of Ontario in 2002, in honour of her "major contributions to the arts and theatre in Ontario and across Canada. One of Canada's outstanding actresses, she was a key player in the development of Toronto's Crest Theatre, an important training ground for a genderation of Canadian actors."
