A man has fallen into a large crack in a frozen lake. Another man, held back by others, tries to reach the fallen man with his cane and says, "Hold fast!" Right behind him is a street sign that reads "RHS DANGEROUS" Many others are gathered around. On the left edge, a man is standing by with his hands in his pocket, saying "I told them how it would be but they wouldn't mind me." The drowning man says ""I await the event, with the utmost tranquillity."", In another copy of this print, R9266-3528, each of the main figures is labelled in pencil below, but the inscription is too faint for complete transcription. The man with the cane is likely Lord Melbourne and the drowning man may be the Duke of Wellington., For other copies of this print, please see R9266-3528 and R9266-3530., The top corners are creased and the support is stained throughout.
