Image depicting in fairly good detail the city of Kingston from the dockyard., Capt. Michael Seymour was an officer on the HMS Vindictive. He sailed to Halifax in 1845.

General note:

Removed from: Album: This item is part of a sketchbook which was dismantled. It carries page number 31.

Note on the state of conservation:

Work is in acceptable condition. The glue used to paste the image to the album page has permeated the paper and left stains all around the edges. Furthermore, four triangle-shaped stains are located towards the middle of the work, suggesting that the item on the previous page was mounted using triangle-shaped supports. Prolonged contact between the two pages may have caused this transfer of substances. The secondary support is brown and frayed around the edges.
