Film about wild birds and animals in and around the city of Toronto. It includes the following (part 1): medium shot of seagulls feeding off snow covered ground; long view of ducks wintering near sea wall by Humber River; patches of frozen water; ducks flying over frozen ice; other ducks on ice (this is a colony of black ducks kept and fed by the Parks Department); close-up of wood ducks in their winter quarters; ducks swimming in open water holes; pan to other ducks feeding on frozen ground; extreme close-up of wood ducks on a pond in spring; medium shot of Canada and snow geese coming out of a large fenced enclosure, waddling towards pond for first spring dip; medium shot of two men emptying a crate of swan chicks into a pond for their first dip; medium shot of geese swimming in a large pond; medium shot of two men releasing Mallard ducks from crate into a pond at High Park; extreme close-up of mallard duck's nest with eight white eggs; close-up of a black duck's nest with hatching eggs; long view of a duck sitting on a nest; extreme close-up of Canada goose sitting in nest, with her nearby mate on guard; extreme close-up of swan in her nest, with fierce-looking male swan close by; and extreme close-up of Atlantic Coast Black Back Gull at Riverdale Zoo. This species was introduced at Riverdale Zoo in 1920.
