This engraving is a business trade label. There is a ruled line on the bottom onto which information can be added (see inscription). There is a view of montreal at the center of the label. On the right is the figure of a Britannia holding a shield with the union jack crosses with a lion at her feet. On the left is a native man holding a shield bearing the coat-of-arms of Alexander Davison (see inscription) in one hand and a long-stemmed pipe in the other (peace pipe?), a hachet and a beaver at his feet. Behind him is a palm tree.
