The flower pot in the l.r. is not part of the formal composition, and appears to have been added by the artist, perhaphs as a reference to his or her name. Another print by the same artist in the NA holdings bears the same initials W.E.P. (see C-129847), this along with the flower pot suggests attribution to W.E. Potter., This impression has been double struck in the l.r. corner (note the double image of the flower pot and the cross-hatching). This may be the result of the press being applied twice during printing. For other copies of the print see R9266-3367 and NA holdings.
