this is one of several Quebec Driving Club lithographs in the Winkworth Collection. The inscription on the recto refers to the owners of the respective sleighs shown in the composition. It is unclear whether the inscription on the verso is the artist of the lithograph, however, the title may be a reference to the fact that the British officers posted in Canada often spent lavishly on their sleighs., See Mary Allodi, Printmaking in North America, pp.116-125, for a discussion of similar prints.
