Subject depicts a landscape and a waterfall; Niagara falls is painted here from the American Side. Goat Island is in the c.l. of the image. Both the American and Canadian -- Horseshoe Falls are depicted., Sir Head was the lieutenant-governor of New Brunswick in 1847-1854, after which he was the governor-general of British North America.
