Depicted is a right-facing (to the viewer), full length, example of a carved, wooden, ship's figure-head mounted on a pedestal. This drawing is from a file containing approx. 60-70 small / thumbnail size pencil (or ball point pen) sketches of various antique objects, executed on 23 sheets of paper by Harold Pfeiffer, probably during the time that he was employed by the National Museum of Man, (now the Canadian Museum of Civilization). The artist had a lifelong interest in antiques which accounted for his expertise in this field
