A drawing from the classical Greek "acanthus spinosis" leaf ornament used on the capitals of columns in the Corinthian Order of architecture. The work (on artboard no.2) is from a group of 26 drawings on 8 artboards prepared by Harold Pfeiffer for a lecture series (no.6) on the "Evolution of English Furniture 1600-1850". The lecture was given by the artist at the National Gallery of Canada
