Television documentary progrom on Canada-Japan export trade, narrated by Ken Haslam. Filmed on location in the western provinces and Japan at such places as the Ginza and the Tsukiju market in Tokyo where fish is auctioned; the Mitsui headquarters in Tokyo; Kyoto during a religious festival and at NKK's new steel mill situated on a specially-built island in the Bay of Tokyo. The program highlights some of the social and cultural differences between the two countries that affect the way we do business. Among those interviewed are: Bially Bennett, Premier of British Columbia; Peter Lougheed, Premier of Alberta; Bruce Rankin, Canada's Ambassador to Japan; Barry Tyrer, Vancouver businessman; Jack Langdon, Burns International, Calgary; David Graham, head of BC Forest Industries Association office in Tokyo; Edgar Kaiser of Kaiser Resources, Sparewood, BC; Jack McKercher, independent logger, BC Forest Industries; Garnett Altwasser of Lakeside Feeders, Alberta; Hajime Tsuboi, President of Mitsui Homes; and Hisao Makita, President of NKK Steel. <56mn 39s>
