The Stuart silhouette is full length in profile to the right, holding a top hat and cane to his side with the left hand resting on the chest. THE WILKINS SILHOUETTE is full length in profile to the left, with the hair in a bun and holding a closed parasol in the left hand with the right hand resting on the waist. The mount is a folio from the artist's own album of duplicate silhouettes., Lukis family, Guernsey, given to them by the artist following a shipwreck: Mrs. Emily Nevill Jackson, acquired from the son of Frederica Lukis, daughter of Thomas Lukis to whom Edouart gave the albums., Also see acc. 1983-25-2:A; isn: 123233 for the Douglas Stuart record.

[page number]"., Inscription: Watermark on mount: SMITH & ALLNUTT / 1828, Inscription: There are probably inscriptions on the verso of the silhouettes since it was the artist's habit to identify and date each silhouette on the back.
