A private issue, pictorial postcard, addressed to Mrs. A.F. Van Wart, Fredericton, N.B. (right, verso); and containing a handwritten message, to the addressee, dated "2/3/44 Montreal" (left verso). The address side of the postcard also contains the small remnant of a single example of the 1942 - 3 CENTS dark carmine KING GEORGE VI WAR ISSUE definitive stamp of Canada - type showing the King in an Air Force uniform (Scott # 251) - tied by a Montreal machine cancellation, bearing the date "MAR 2 / 1944". The recto/image side of the postcard shows a view of the City of Montreal, from St. Helen's Island, reproduced from a Canadian Pacific Railway photograph
