A collotype postcard, addressed to Mr. Eugene A. Forsey, Ottawa, Ontario, containing a handwritten message to the addressee, dated "Grand Bank, / Newfoundland, / January 1st, 1909". The message side of the postcard also contains a single example of the 1908 two cent rose carmine, stamp of Newfoundland (Scott # 86 - "Map of Newfoundland"), tied with indiscernible postmark. The image side of the postcard depicts two men working inside a crudely constructed wooden fishing shack. They are standing, opposite each other, on either side of a wooden work table, heading and splitting codfish - the figure furthest away facing the viewer
