The work depicts a prairie scene with a tent and teepees. The print is a page taken from a book, (<> underlined) published by the War Department of U.S., Washington D.C. 1855-1860., June 1975 - Visual inspection revealed that the work is foxed and discoloured where it had been matted; the edges are discoloured and there is a large stain l.l. corner. There are tear holes u.l. & u.r. corner; the top edge is ragged as a result of being torn from a book. There are glue remnants on the verso upper edge.
