Watercolour by Herbert Murray Jarvis depicting two individuals whom he has identified as Plains Cree Chief Lucky Man (Papewes or Papaway), left, and Plains Cree Chief Big Bear (Mistahi-maskwa). The artwork accompanied a letter which was sent to Jarvis' father on May 14, 1885. The letter includes details about the watercolour, including identifications of the people depicted and that the image was copied from a photo taken of the men.

Title based on identifications by H. M. Jarvis in his letter.

Physical description note:

There is a watermark "A Price & Sons / 1883".

Note on the state of conservation:

The paper has vertical and horizontal fold lines. The paper is also soiled, has holes (l.r., centre right, u.r. and centre), and is discoloured and stained.
