The drawing depicts a man in a black and gold costume with white stockings. The costume was designed for the lead male dancer in the Soldier's Dream number of 'The Army Show'. The lead dancer according to the programme was Hal Seymour and not Everett Staples as indicated on the verso of the mount., This costume design was used in 'The Army Show' presented in the Victoria Theatre, Toronto and later toured in 1943-44., April 1975 - condition at accessioning: the drawing is soiled. The mount has pinholes in each corner and a loss in the l.l. corner., When accessioned the drawing was mounted with glue on grey paper. The mount has a red pencil border framing the drawing.
