Bartlett's Canadian prints were originally published in Nathaniel P. Willis' Canadian Scenery, published in London in 1840 and republished in several editions thereafter. Most first editions have only English captions while subsequent editions have tri-lingual captions., Another copy of this print may be found in Art, Rare Books: Willis, N.P.: "Western World Illustrated...." subscription copies of "Canadian Scenery" published in parts every alternative week, each part with four engravings and eight or twelve pages of descriptive text; this print found in Part 16. Reference: 1997-476-59; includes parts: 1, 2, 11, 13-19, 21-29, plus bound pages including title page, plate (portrait of Bartlett), and list of illustrations for "Canadian Scenery.", This print found in c.3, vol. 2 of Art Rare Books.
