Television sports program covering the 1972 Canadian College Bowl,, live from Varsity Stadium, Toronto. Commentators are Don Chevrier, Bob Moir and Nobby Wirkowski. Playing for the Vanier Cup are Waterloo Lutheran's football team, the Golden Hawks, vs the University of Alberta's Golden Bears. At half-time, with the Golden Bears in the lead, host Don Chevrier presents footage of the College Bowl Dinner given by the City of Toronto. Includes presentations of the CIAU Media Award to Bob Gauge, London Free Press; Lester B. Pearson Award to the former Primer Minister, accepted on his behalf by Senator Keith Davey; and the Award to the Oustanding Player of the Year presented by Frank Tindell, coach at Queen's University to Andy Parichi, quarterback at the University of Windsor. Scenes of the College Bowl Parade through downtown Toronto prior to the game are also shown. At the stadium Bob Moir interviews John Alexander, President of the Canadian College Bowl, who talks about the substantial donation the Bowl contributes to the CANSAVE fund; Jim Dunlevy, coach of the Golden Bears; and to Dave Knight, coach of the Golden Hawks.~Alberta's coach, Jim Dunlevy talks to Bob Moir after his team wins the game. Andy MacLeod and Roger Comartin, winners of the Ted Morris Trophy for outstanding player, also comment. Presentation of the Vanier Cup is made by Carl [Totski], President of the Intercollegiate Athletics Union, and O.K. Shank, President of the CANSAVE fund. <170mn>
