This print depicts the delegates to the Quebec Conference of 1864. The inscription on the print bears two misleading bits of information. The date of the conference is erroneously given as 1866 and one of the delegates is misidentified in the legend (see inscription). The portraits are all based on photographs of the delegates. The print is dedicated to Lord Lisgar, governor-general of Canada 1869-1872., The print is dated 1871-1872 based on the fact that the printer Roberts, Reinhold & Co. became Roberts & Co. in either 1871 or 1872 (see Montreal City Directory 1872-1873, and the inscription on the print which refers to the company's name change) and the dedication on the print to Lord Lisgar (Governor General 1869-1872). Based on these two pieces of evidence it is safe to say that the print was made in either 1871 or 1872.
