Inscribed in brown and gold letters on a gold and brown background is "1933/A Century/of Progress/Chicago". At upper centre is an image of a planet.

Button is from Chicago's "A Century of Progress International Exposition". The exposition both commemorated the centennial anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Chicago and celebrated scientific discovery and the benefits it has brought to industry and society. The Exposition was initially planned for the 1933 season only, it was extended for another year and reopened for a second season in 1934.
